Today we meet up so that we could begin to film our opening sequence so today we wanted to film all of the parts where Ellie is in because we got Lucy (our actress) for the day. So before we started we looked over our script, shot list and storyboards so that we all had a clear idea of what we was going to do. So Ellie (the character) is a very silly happy go lucky girl who is a bit clumsy, and we have Lucy to play the character we briefly tell her about her character then we head of to film. We had now got our camera and tripod so was ready to go to our first location which was Becky's bedroom, we then got everything ready to begin filming.
Now we started to film we filmed the waking up out of bed scene for Ellie, we filmed this section many times at various different angles so that when it comes to editing we had enough clips so that we didn't have to go and re-film we all know how vital it is to shoot a section a few times because in our prelim we had to re film a section at the end but couldn't get the same actress back so had to cut that from the prelim altogether, so we have learnt from the prelim and now make sure we do not make the same mistakes for our actual opening sequence. Anyway we started the filming in Becky's room than after we had finished all of the shots for the bedroom section we then filmed the bathroom section, we all decided that if we were to use a mirror shot that it will look good so we made or clip look like she is looking into the camera. After this we filmed the shots of her running down the stairs because she is late for work, Now we had finished all of the filming indoors for Ellie's part and just had to film her exiting the house and running down the road.
We also decided to go and ask to film at Becontree station to see if we were able yo or not and the man in there said we could film in there, so we did. Becky took the camera in and filmed Lucy getting on the train as it leaves and then filmed her getting off at her stop and rushing towards work. Now we had completely filmed for the day and it had taken up the whole day pretty much and we had now filmed all of the parts for Ellie's character.
I did enjoy filming because we have planned filming for so long it felt good being able to finally get our ideas and start to film. I thought it was good today because our group are good friends now so it makes it easier to work together also we all have good ideas which we constantly put forward to each other which helps us because we are always thinking of ways in which we can make our opening sequence better.
Overall from today i am very happy with how we had planned our filming because it has helped us a lot because without it i think we would have been confused as to which shot will be filmed where. Also as we learned from our prelim, storyboarding is very helpful and that we did not put enough detail into our prelim storyboard but this time we did enough to help guide us though filming which i am very happy with because we went into enough detail to help us picture what we would have to do when we film. I was very happy that we got permission to use the train station because it would be a good part in our film to have because it gives the audience more detail about Ellie's personality. Now all we have to film is Jessica's sections which we are going to film the next time everyone can film and then we would have finished filming altogether and then go on to our editing stage.
