Titles research

The Devil Wears Prada- Title Sequence

From this title sequence i can see that they first introduce the production company, then i see that they have put the names of the main actors/ actress' at the very beginning i think this is a good technique because it can capture the attention of the audience because they are 'well known' actors/actress'.  Then we finally see what the name of the film on top of an establishing shot, this is interesting because we are doing a romantic comedy and this film's genre is a romantic comedy. So now i can begin to see how this genre of film tend to lay out their title sequence's, what i didn't like was how the title has two different fonts because i found it hard to see on the background so when we come to do our opening sequence i will make sure that our title will stand out from the background so it is easy to read and i believe this will make our opening sequence look professional. Also in this film after introducing the main actors and the film names they begin to introduce the less important actors.

Zombieland- Title Sequence

Here is the Zombieland title sequence and the thing which stood out for me was the interaction between the scene going on in the background and the titles themself. As you can see from the last two screen grabs it is just one example from the title sequence, and this one is the name of the film then it gets smashed as the window get smashed. I think this is a clever idea which has been put in to the film and is a unique title sequence which i rarely see in most films. Although this is not the genre which our film is in but i am just focusing on how the titles have been put into the beginning and how they have been used. Also i thought the font and colour of the font was appropriate because it is easy to read as the font is simple, also the colour of it stands out nicely on the background of the clips.

Love Actually- Title sequence

This title sequence is different because the way the clip is being filmed in the background is like it has been filmed on a handy cam, and just filming random people to show the love people have for each other. We first see who the film has been produced by then we have a big gap where there is no titles that appear. Then we see the title of the film, then we see another word in a different colour after we see a sentence that has been made from the title. I like this idea because it gets people to read it out loud because they want to see what words are coming next. Also this sentence sets a mood, as it makes everyone feel happy because love is all around us. The thing i liked the most from this title sequence was  the pause it had between the company names and then the title it is something that i would consider to use in our opening sequence because it gives the audience time to look at what is happening in the shot.
