Main Title Process

Here is what I have drawn today to help us know what titles we will be needing to create on LiveType this helped me when creating our titles because it guided us with what titles we have done and need to do. As you can see above we needed to get a intro which says "Centre Stage Productions" which is the name of our company which we came up with. We then need titles which introduce the 'Directors' and the actors then at the end we need the title of the film to appear. The title of the film will be done at the very end of our opening sequence on a black background whereas the titles introducing the people will happen over the top of clips. Me and Becky had an idea that the titles could interact with the clips just like the opening sequence of the film Zombieland which i have researched previously. For example we thought about have a title over the clip of Lucy blowing her hair and as she blows her hair, the titles blow away. And when Lucy throws the clothes on the bed they cover the title. This is the idea that me and Becky are going to try and do in the up and coming lessons.

Today we have finnished the main title which we appear at the end of our opening sequence it will read the words 'Two can play that Game' which is the name of our Film that this opening sequence is for. So to start with we wrote the word 'Two' as you can see below we made it the colour pink in a posh style font. We have still got to put a transition onto it, we would like it to look as if it has been written on the screen.

Below is what the writing will look like we decided to have it like this style because the pink is a really nice colour and is the outline of the word. We used a transition which makes it  come on screen like it has been written on. The word Two has been intended to represent the character Jessica played by Ellouise because she is a sophisticated business woman who is and that is why we have chosen this 'girly' posh font.

Here is how we got to select to put in a new track where we are able to put in a new word or sentence and then change the transition or font of it so that it is separate from the rest of the screen. For this specific title we had to use this feature several times for the 'Two' and the 'can play that' and then the 'Game' because they all will have a different transition. We needed this tool because we needed the three sections to have different transitions.

As you can see in the screenshot below that is what our title screen looks like and we have applied all the transitions and the specific fonts we would like to the words. We made the word 'Game' like it has been drawn by kids and is very colourful and fun. The transition for the game is a moving scribble style word which looks very messy and child like, this part of the title represents Ellie who is played by Lucy. We are pleased with how it looks in LiveType but we still have to see what it looks like in FinalCut at the end of our opening sequence.

In the screengrab below we see the 'Two can Play 01' and that is the title which we have created using LiveType. Me and Becky had to import it onto Final Cut then place it at the end of our opening sequence. We thought it looked very professional when it overlapped the end of the opening sequence, the title also lasts over 2 seconds so it is long enough to read and still doesn't exceed the two minute mark.

As you can see below this is what the title looks like in Final Cut me and Becky was very pleased with how it turned out because the transitions run smoothly and it looks professional. Also it is a perfect length in my opinion because it doesn't go on too long and it long enough to read which is what we wanted it to look like. Me and Becky are very happy with what we have done to make our title because it looks just how we planned it to look at the beginning of the lesson. Now that we have finnished making this title we will now go on to make the intro to our film. Overall today was sucsessful and me and Becky are please with the process of making our title which went at the end of our opening sequence.
