We then decided to change the 'Game' of the title to a more scribbled art style effect because we had a talk, and Becky said that toy blocks are associated with young children and the character Ellie is a secondary school art teacher so she doesn't teach such young children. And then we came up with this design which is similar to an effect we have previously tried in LiveType. As you can see below we re drew out the design we wanted so that when we go to create it we can see what we would want it to look like. I wasn't fully convinced that this style would represent Ellie the best like the toy blocks did but i would have to see with how we can make it look like in LiveType because then it might look much better than our original idea.
So after planning me and Becky started to create the titles on LiveType at first we had to pick what word we was going to use first. We agreed that we would do the 'Two' so we had to look for a transition which made the text come on the screen as if it has been written onto it. We found the transition for this which looked perfect for how we wanted it to look, but it was not the right font colour we wanted it to be so we had to tweak the outline to make it the best pink possible. Me and Becky then selected a pink which we felt could connote to being a very posh business like so we had to chose that because it looked like it suited the character Jessica the best. In the screenshot below you can see the 'Two' which we have created using LiveType we have put it on a tilt as it looks most appropriate here with the other words.
We then went onto creating the other words in our title we then had to make the 'can play that' and the 'Game'. For the 'can play that' we wanted it to be a plain font style and a simple colour because we did not want to draw too much attention to it as the 'Two' and the 'Game' are the main focuses in this title. We then started to make the word 'Game' look like how we planned previously so to start with we had to find the font style which was a scribble and the transition which made this scribble move. After we found the correct transition and font style we had to make each individual letter the colour we wanted it to look like, the colours were very bright and art like which was how we wanted it to look like. As you can see below that it what our title looks like after the transition have brought them into the screen.
And then after we had successfully placed this title into LiveType and added it to the end of our opening sequence. We was left still with two seconds which we was pleased with because it gives us time to add some clips more freely because we still have time to use. I was pleased with how the title looks on our opening sequence as i was happy because we wanted it to match a romantic comedy, and i believe our title is appropriate for the genre. Also this title represents the characters in the film as the posh font represents the character Jessica and the art font represents the character Ellie. We now are going to focus on the other titles because now we have done the title and intro to the opening sequence.
As you see below this is a photo of me and Becky editing our intro to our opening sequence, me and Becky found a good background to the name of our production company. We have now finished making the introduction and the title of our film, our introduction was not that hard to make we just had to make sure that the timing is appropriate so it doesn't take us over the 2 minute mark.
Below is a photo of me and Becky planning our titles and what we are going to do over the next few lessons. Overall we are very pleased with how the editing process has gone and now we are going to focus on the titles then that would leave us with the voice overs to do then i think we are complete, then we as a group will start to tweak and adjust the opening sequence until we have it to the best of our ability.
Today i feel that we have progressed massively in making our opening sequence because we have managed to create the title for the end of our opening sequence. I was very pleased with this because it looked almost identical to how we planned it to look when we were designing it. Also we got the introduction finished at the end of the lesson which i felt looked like a professional opening title.
Next lesson we plan to create all of the other titles for example the director, actors and the other important people. We are going to show their names in order of importance starting with the Producer then Director, then screenplay then to the actors. We predict that this will take another two lessons because we would like to make some of the titles interact with the screen, just like they do in the film Zombieland which i have researched previously.
